Since 1946 – Our History Runs Deep
John Clearman opened Clearman’s Steak ‘N Stein in 1946 and later created North Woods Inn in 1958, offering hearty meals in a cozy, woodsy setting. With two additional North Woods Inn locations and “The Boat”, his restaurants continue to serve large portions and attract families for special occasions.

Say Yes to Steak ‘N Stein!
We were impressed by the quality and quantity of food and service for the price.
The atmosphere was dim with a romantic ambiance. A perfect place for a date.
For the first course we got the salad and cheese bread and for the entree we got the petite filet with a huge baked potato and for dessert we got the key lime pie which we had to take to go since we were so stuffed.
The salad was super fresh and I loved the blue cheese dressing as well as the house made ranch. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and tender. The baked potato was huge and went well with all the sour cream, cheese, and chives. We were so full that we had to take dessert home.
I had the key lime pie at home and it was super light and creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness.
I would 100% come back again!

North Wood’s Food Is So Good
This is one of my most favorite restaurants. If you want food and flavors you can count on to be consistent, this is the place. Let's start with the fresh and free starters... The yummy blue cheese and the purple cabbage salads are oh so simple, but oh so delicious. They still taste the same as when I used to come with my family as a child. My favorite is getting two scoops of the green salad, and a dash of purple and mixing them together. Even the waitress recommended eating it that way as a fan favorite. But the cheesy cheese toast is always a winner and always steals the show! It's so delicious that we order a second round before we're even finished with the first. The food is always delicious too. The lobster was so sweet and delicious. And guess what?!?! They finally brought king crab back. It's not on the menu but it is available as an entree. For a good solid dinner & drinks night on the town, this is the place.

Always Coming Back to the Boat
If you haven't been to the boat you are missing out. If you want Clearman's Steak House famous salad and bread without the steak house vibe you''ll need to visit here. This place is great to watch any type of sports game you would want.
Dodgers and football are the most popular, so get there early to get a table. Their food is pretty good, as long as you get a burger or an appetizer. Their chili is really good and they put it on almost anything. The garlic bread is by far the most famous and is so delicious. They have large ice cold beers on tap, plenty of seating and a huge parking lot. Love this place. This is a great staple of the San Gabriel valley!
